Release of the 1250R

We have had another very exciting month. Introducing the latest addition to our high-aspect range: the 1250R foil!

We’ve listened closely to our community, and many larger riders were seeking a bigger R foil. Additionally, we wanted to create a foil that makes it easier to get up in lighter wind conditions. The result is a foil designed for ultimate efficiency in glide, exceptional pumping power, and the perfect solution for those no-wind downwind sessions.

Whether you’re cruising around the lake, wing foiling in just 5 knots, or enjoying endless pumping sessions in the surf, the 1250R is here to elevate your experience.

Welcome the 1250R—your new go-to foil for unmatched performance!

Does Foiling Offend you?

Josh Ku challenges the idea of foils in the surf line up, making a YouTube video that touches on the hate around foiling. A great video to divulge and discuss the issues around surf etiquette and foils.

“We all know the old culture – the one where the person catching the most waves gets some serious side-eye in the lineup. I can relate—it started for me when I was shortboard surfing. When a longboarder caught waves before I did, I was frustrated. Fast forward 15 years, and now we’ve got hydrofoils that can catch unbroken waves, and then throw Foil Assist products like ‪@foildrive‬ into the mix, adding little motors to help you get anywhere and catch just about anything.

So, why the hate? Is it jealousy from someone who’s not catching as many waves? In this video, I’m sharing my take on how to have a great time foiling at Australia’s busiest beach without stepping on anyone’s toes. I want to show that there’s room for everyone to enjoy the waves.”

What do you think? Do you agree, or do you think the rivalry is just part of the culture? Let’s talk about it!

Parawinging Hype

So, parawinging is still a bit of an unknown…. Some people hype it up and some people are really struggling with the learning journey.

Some are using it for downwinding, some use it to get in the waves and ride hands free. What are you going to use it for?

There are plenty of informative videos coming out and lots of tips on where to start.

Dave West shows us the realistic behind the scenes of learning to parawing. He states:

“First off – the D wing is a great product. The best parawing on the market in 2025.

It’s early days for Parawinging and there’ll be big gains to be made in the next few years. Both in terms of instructional videos and the product itself.

I’m hoping to get good enough to provide some instruction but so far it’s gonna be slower than I had hoped.

I don’t like sucking at things and I turn into a rabid chipmunk with tourettes when I’m bad at things. Lots of yelling and swearing.

But here in please take my advice that I’ve laid out in this video about what not to do and what ‘to do.’

If i’m honest I’m only persisting with the parawing because I know it’s good for my audience and it’s something lots of people are curious about. I’ve also seen Foilrat making it look fun so ….I’m persisting.”
